I am apple shaped mid 30s. I was a bit worried when buying these since I wonder if they would look too "old". Luckily black is black and I figured it couldn't hurt to take a chance. Price is a bit high but I usually have to spend more when necessary just to find a descent pair of jeans to fit me right. I'm bigger in my stomach area and have smaller thighs/legs and no butt. I hate jeans that are loose on my thighs and butt. These were neither. I'm 5'4" and found the length to be perfect. I like my jeans a little longer so that when I wear some heels it helps cover the actual heel of my foot. The mini boot is also perfect. Not too wide and not a skinny jean. The waist is all the longer/taller side but that just helps me cover some of my muffin top. I usually wear a size 16. I ordered a size 14 as it suggest and fit perfectly. I did not wash them yet. I try not to wash black jeans or if I do, as little as possible. Never seen a black Jean that doesn't fade so I hold out as long as I can. I've since gone back and bought the dark tonal with stitching and scored again!I love the fit of these jeans ... just a wee bit more material from the knee down. I ride a dual sport motorcycle and wear the black colored Billie Mini Bootcut Jeans for a very slender look. (The blue color are a heavier material and a bit hotter). The jeans stretch and are very forgiving if you gain a couple pounds. I like the higher waist so my bike jacket fits better in the back. So they look almost like a skinny jean but cover boots or bike shoes better. I also wear them with a short heeled sandal in summer or Chucks. I love the length - 33 inches for riding because they don't pull over my ankles when straddling the bike. I'm 5'71/2" with a 31" inseam. I don't have them hemmed because after a couple washings they shrink just enough to be perfect. I also recommend you turn them inside out to wash them - never put them in the dryer as they will lose their elasticity at the tummy area. Also use Black Woolite to maintain the color.These ran larger than usual for NYDJ. I've bought, over the years, at least a dozen pairs of NYDJ jeans or capris', so I ordered my usual size 10 (I'm 5'10", 145lbs); but, these were just too big. Had to return, though I did order next size down because I did like the cut and the length. If you are not tall, you'll have to hem these because they are very long.JUST SAW OTHER REVIEWS...and I'm sure NYDJ is shipping a different jean than they did in 2015 because the other reviews talk about being too small and flimsy and the ones I rec'd (and am replacing for smaller size) were NOT small and flimsy.These fit great! This is my 4th pair of NYDJ's. I just discovered them a few months ago, so don't have the history some people have that have claimed declining quality, but I think they are great because of the rise, especially. I got this pair for under $28, and while I would have preferred a darker wash, saving over $100 was more appealing to me! I will keep them, and continue to search for NYDJ bargains, because I do think they are way too expensive.I got the mini boot because I don't care for the wider regular boot cut on jeans because I'm short and they just make you look shorter. I tried them on with cowboy boots, and while you can sort of see the top of the boot from certain angles, I don't think it's a deal-breaker. I know some people have mentioned that. Personal preference I guess!These are by far the most comfortable jeans I have ever purchased. They feel more like yoga pants than jeans. The color is excellent and doesn't rub off like some darker wash jeans I have purchased in the past. I read all the reviews and I read all the instructions provided by the company and ordered a size smaller than I would have normally purchased and it worked out wonderfully! I have a tiny waist and large hips so I fear purchasing jeans online or without trying them on first. These though, these jeans hold me in and up and make me feel super sexy and honestly like I am not even wearing jeans.I bought these for my girlfriend. She is 125lbs, 5'5", hour glass figure. She normally wears a size 2-4, so I purchased the size 2. The material of these pants, I would say, are in between jeggings and jeans. However, they don't fit super tight. One wash snugged them up, perfectly. You need a belt around 1" thick to keep the proportions right on these high wasted jeans. I paired them with a crushed white linen shirt by Camixa (Amazon), one inch braided leather belt in cognac color with leather wrapped buckle, Unisa Kalise wedge sandal with leather wrapped buckle in cognac color (DSW), coach purse Stanton Carryall 26 in cross grain leather in saddle leather (Coach), and an adjustable sterling silver bar bracelet (Amazon).The outfit is stunning.Nice but thin! True NYDJ fit, well made, great price. Unfortunately the fabric is very thin! What happened to the original NYDJ? I loved those lovely true denim with spandex fabrics that the wind didn’t rip through. These are beautiful pants that look like jeans but are not. These are designed perfectly but the fabric is more for a night out in a warm climate. Definitely not for keeping you warm in cooler climates.I like the fit--it's perfect as usual for NYDJ--but I hate that the fabric blend of cotton , polyester, spandex, and elastane create a fabric that does not hold up well over time and use. Eventually there will be faded white horizontal creases forming over the thighs--I hate that. Years ago jeans did not have these type of creases forming because there was more cotton used in the jean and the jean was slightly thicker.These jeans arrived in one week, considering I'm in Australia, that was an unexpected treat! I have a few other pairs of black NYDJ jeans, but because the price was incredibly low I thought another pair would be fine.They fit as all of the NYDJ do (which means just right ( but one thing puzzles me. They're described as having a hidden drawstring - if it's here, it's hidden REALLY well. There's no sign of it.I have bought several pairs of these jeans. I really like the fit and they wash up nicely.Great jeans. I only buy NYDJ so I know my size. The price was reasonable and they arrived quickly.Glad I didn't order 1 size smaller as my regular size was good. Very good quality jeans.Great fit, great look! Expertly packed, shipped & delivered.
