I love Gloria Vanderbilt jeans but they are so hard to size right. I usually wear a 16 in pants. With these jeans I've gone down to a size 12. But it's difficult to get them to fit well since they are so long and sizing seems to change with each pair of jeans. I realized I needed to get 12P or 12 short, both of which are hard to get - Amazon always seems to be out of the size I need. I started with size 14, but they are just too big all the way around - in length, waist, inseam. If you order the average, the length is even longer, so stick with just a plain size or your size in short or petite. I love these jeans because of all the different colors offered, but good luck getting the size you want since they seem to be unavailable a lot of the time.I wish they made this color in a Tall size, but I'll take the Average to get the nice wine-red color. Until I tried on a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, I had never found any that I could actually wear comfortably; now, i wear them by preference when the weather and occasion permits. And these rail-straight ones are a nice balance; the fit is still slim without making the legs excessively skinny. They aren't sloppy, so I don't have to tie the bottom of the right leg when I'm on my bike, but they also aren't so narrow that I have to reach down and tug them past my ankles to get them off at the end of the day, either.I'm 5'4" around 160 pounds, generally a size 10. I ordered plum in a size 12. Yes, they were initially a bit long and roomy, but I popped them in the wash on a warm wash and regular heat cycle now they fit like a dream. Enough room to be high-waist with a belt comfortably (no awkward camel toe crotch action) with the length reaching the exact right spot on a pair of low heels. Looks a lot higher quality than the price. Lots of compliments on the fit and color. Will order more colors.These pants are attractive and fairly lightweight (which isn't a bad thing for me). The length is good, and they fit me well. Unfortunately, the illustration isn't the reality as far as the cut. The pants on the model look quite narrow at the bottom, but the pants I received are 8.25 inches wide at the ankle instead of the 6.5 to 7 inches I was hoping for. That little bit of extra width makes a difference., and I'll be returning them.For an older lady with a tummy, these are comfortable and flattering jeans. I find Gloria Vanderbilt sizes to be consistent, makes ordering easier. At 5'4" with a post-menopause thick waist and flat bottom, 29" inseam, I found sz 12 to be about right in the stomach and hip if a little loose in the seat. Had to hem.5'8" 145lbs, 31L/32W/41H - size 12 of these pants is a great fit for me. I like a pant to come up to my waist but not choke the life out of me. Very comfortable for all day wear and long enough!! Yay! to the tops of my shoes and flexible when I bend, but no plumber's fanny :) thanks very much!I love the color of these jeans, I tried them on and liked the fit, so I washed them. Unfortunately, they are really too big once I have them on for a short time. I should have purchased a size smaller. Consider that when you purchase, you may be able to go down a size for the stretching out when you wear them.I find myself going back to this particular brand because the length is perfect, the fit is perfect, love the variety of colors.
